Uintas Weekend and the Deck

We took a small vacation to the beautiful Uinta Mountains. Most of the campgrounds were closed because it was so late in the season so we ended up staying at Mirror Lake. It was a bit chilly but beautiful. We had a great time and enjoyed the break. We didn't realize that they had turned off the water for the winter and we didn't bring any with us. Luckily our friends came prepared and we had enough to get us through the trip.

They had a nature walk around the lake with local fact about the wildlife and environment. Here is Eli in the giant tree which represents an entire ecosystem.

Jared caught a fish, he actually caught several. Come on get in the boat, fish! fish!

Eli loved playing with the head lamp, it changes colors and he was having a blast. Eli loves camping and sleeping in the tent. For a two year old he does pretty good during the night. I can't say as much for our friends little girl who was awake most of the night.

Check me out, I'm ready for the hike! We hiked to another small lake on the Fir Lake trail. There are three small lakes we made it to the first one and had to stop.

Jared took on the project of refinishing the deck. It really needed it. He rented a sander and went to work!

Finished sanding now it's time to get it ready to paint.
